Environment360gh At The Very Core
Environment360 is a woman-led, Ghana-based social enterprise that supports the development of circular communities. We provide technical training, capacity-building sessions, and business development support to formal and informal green entrepreneurs. Founded in 2014, Environment360 has been a trailblazer in the plastic waste collection space. The organization spearheaded the development of a local PET market by developing the first successful community collection schemes for plastics, Evolve. The leadership of the organization was also key in developing the National Standards for PET recycling.

The organization has supported nearly 1,000 formal and informal green entrepreneurs to develop stronger business models leading to increased incomes and improved environmental conditions. In 2021, the organization developed the Circular Innovation Hub. The Hub provides green entrepreneurs access to a makers space, skilled green tech expertise, and membership-based business support to help accelerate innovation and implementation of local technologies that improve livelihoods and human conditions. The organization and the Circular Innovation Hub are based in Dodowa at Environment360’s Green Complex facility.

Creating 24 million Jobs by 2030
Environment360 is the pioneer of community plastic waste recycling in Ghana. The organization has worked with the Danone Ecosystem Fund, GIZ, as well as the Federal German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action to support thousands of waste pickers in Accra and Kumasi to reduce plastic litter and increase recycling rates. The organization has spearheaded educational programs with the Mohinani Group, and Vivo Energy. We specialize in creating innovative training programs and developing skills training that contributes to Ghana’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
We have an established network of green professionals and data researchers, throughout the continent, who can support on-ground research, development of case studies, as well as business case scenarios for sustainable waste management programs in Africa. In 2022, the organization launched the Circular Innovation Hub. The Circular Innovation Hub is a maker’s space dedicated to supporting rapid prototyping for the business community. The Hub is equipped with a plastic recycling machines, including an injection and extruder to support exploring applications of PP, HDPE, ABS and LDPE plastics. To learn more email info@environment360gh.org.
